Transplants

Who would know? Well, we certainly wouldn’t! I mean if someone would have told us that we were going to move to where we are living now, we’d probably say: “yeah right!”.

In brand strategy (which is our profession and true passion), we always start our process to build our clients brands by asking ourselves “where are we now?” in an attempt to evaluate our current situation from a to z. And, we then ask “where could we be? which leads to formulating a distinctive vision, a one-off trajectory. This is kind of a linear way of thinking. And more often than not, we apply this methodology to our own lives too.

Well, this time it was not the case…

We’ve always called ourselves "Digital Nomads",  by living and earning our living where we are, in other words, going back and forth between our two beloved cities, New York and Istanbul. We simply call both cities “home”. Maybe at some point, we even sub-consciously developed a kind of attachment to these cities…

But now, after living more than 20 years in NY and living-breathing that city to the fullest, a new door opens before us, and a new path unfolds…

I vividly remember from an old Nathan Lane movie where he asks someone in the audience where she is from and after she answers by saying “NJ”', he promptly asks: “which exit?”. Apart from learning that Nathen Lane is actually a NJ native, we honestly see this new path not as an "exit", but rather a new "entry"…

Some says of this town we live in now, “the antique center of NJ”, but we’ll simply call it “Home” again.

From the get-go, we loved this town for one palpable reason among others: An Artisan Coffee & Espresso Shop. The fact that we can literally walk to an artisan coffee roaster for our morning espresso brings us an utmost happiness. This way, we will be able to continue our daily ritual and our lives from where we left off with a smooth transition. I guess this makes us "transplants" as some locals would call it here.

And by embracing this wonderful town with so many exciting surroundings, we are about to experience a lifestyle somewhat different than NY. This time, we'll take it slow, still, simple, mindful…yet still creative, still productive, still joyful...

Hello Lambertville, here we come...slowly...but surely!
